Gay Asia is one continent hugely under-rated by many gay travellers. For people who have not visited countries like Thailand, Taiwan, Cambodia and even Japan, there is a lot to be missed. The sub-continent of South East Asia is diverse, open and largely gay friendly. Many will agree that Bangkok is the hub of gay Asia, hosting one of the largest, raunchiest and ultimately crazy gay scenes in the world today.
For any gay traveller new to gay Asia, Bangkok is great place to start. It’s often seen as a soft landing and less of a culture shock to newbies. Bangkok is also a major hub for travelling around the surrounding countries with cheap flights to many surrounding countries. Vietnam, Cambodia and Bali are just a few nearly countries with plenty to offer all breeds of gay travellers.
It’s true that many gay travellers never make it outside of Thailand and it’s easy to understand why. Putting Bangkok aside, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and even paradise islands such as Koh Samui have vibrant gay scenes, gay hotels and much more to offer visitors.
