Bangkok Gay Bars

A complete guide to all current Bangkok Gay Bars

Bangkok has one of the most interesting gay scenes in the world. It’s no secret that Thailand has a reputation for its red-light districts and gay party scene. For a first time visitor to Thailand, Bangkok Gay Bars can be hard to navigate. Where to go? What’s a normal bar as you don’t want to end up in a GoGo Bar?

We are here to help you answer these questions. Bangkok Gay Bars typically fit into 2 categories. Your normal gay bar, and a host/boy bar. It’s quite often the lines can be blurred with these and at first glance many times you wouldn’t know the difference. Luckily Bangkok is quite unique and does a good job of keeping some distance between its red light district and normal gay street.

Most gay travelers who arrive in Bangkok find themselves on Silom Soi 4. Location minutes walk from Sala Daeng BTS Skytrain station it’s a very easy location to get to. Most gay travelers actually choose hotels in the area of Silom or Sathorn to be close to the gay bars and clubs. Silom Soi 4 has an array of different bars and restaurants, from drag shows to restaurants and even karaoke bars. There is only 1 commercial venue on Silom Soi 4, and that’s a GOGO Bar called Jupiter 2018.

Another location of gay bars, or most accurately host bars is Soi Twilight. This small street is full of commercial bars and GOGO Bars. Drinks are more expensive here, even in the bars. What most people don’t realize is the boys who work here are actually looking for customers to take them home.

In general, many gay travelers start their evenings on Silom Soi 4 before heading to Silom Soi 2 for clubbing.
